It is 2023, almost all of us are using Amazon. While Amazon Prime may not be as quick as it once was, it is still one of the best options for this small town mom.
Is is just me, or does summer roll around and suddenly I want to buy allllllll the things. I obviously need new outside decor, and things to keep the bugs away, probably some new bedding, seasonal throw pillows - of course! So, in this list I will share my top 5 favorite Amazon purchases for Summer
Thermacell Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller
My family recently relocated to an area where our backyard just happens to be a river. While it is BEAUTIFUL, it also means the mosquitos are VICIOUS. I am talking bigger than your head, bite harder than an alligator, leave welts the size of pancakes vicious.
While I was desperate to sit on my back porch and enjoy the summer evenings I was defeatedly scrolling Amazon for the answer to my mosquito woes…when I came across the Thermacell Patio Shield Mosquito Repeller. Now, granted, I have only been using this for a week or so, but so far it has been a life saver!
We have set it out and within 10 minutes or so, the amount of mosquitos flying around was close to none. Which is CRAZY for our place.
It is just a little machine that you place a fuel cartridge in, and then it heats up a pad that you install in the top and puts off a DEET and scent-free smoke that really keeps the critters at bay.

2. Bluetooth Speakers
There are obviously a TON of Bluetooth speakers on the market these days. However, I liked these because they were inexpensive AND you can pair 2 to your phone at once giving a surround-sound- like experience! They are made for indoor/outdoor use and are waterproof. We set them on both sides of our porch and have enjoyed the multi-speaker effect!
3. Catch a Crayfish, Count the Stars: Fun Projects, Skills, and Adventures for Outdoor Kids
This one might be a little more specific to certain families, but really, anyone that enjoys the outdoors and has kids will enjoy this book. My husband and I are huge Stans of the Meateater franchise so we pre-ordered this book for when our 2 boys could take part in the awesome activities in this book! Such a fun book for summer and beyond.
4. IRON °FLASK Kids Water Bottle - 18 Oz, Straw Lid
I don’t know about other mamas, but I don’t want to pay an extreme amount of money for a water bottle for my toddler. He is just going to lose it or leave it somewhere to mold and become garbage. I found these Iron Flask’s and so far it has held up well and holds ice for a long time! They have quite a few patterns and the 18 oz size is perfect for a day with my 3 year old.

5. VATOS Water Table for Toddlers, 4 in 1 Kids Portable Water Play Table Beach Toys, 24PCS Sensory Activity Splash Table
My 5th Favorite Amazon Purchase for Summer is this water table I just ordered, I haven’t gotten it yet - but I have high hopes! My kiddo loves his regular water table, but I wanted something a little larger that would allow us to add some sand and other sensory options. I am thinking the kids will love to play with the 24 pieces it comes with in the water on hot summer days, and then the sand portion once the weather cools down a bit!
If it ends up that we don’t love this table, I will update it - but here’s to hoping!
